Séverine Digonnet discovered ceramics in 2017 in Kayoko Hayasaki's studio in the heart of the Marais, in Paris. Wheel-throwing, modelling, casting, Séverine Digonnet got the opportunity to learn from talented and generous ceramic artists. Through these techniques, Séverine Digonnet tames stoneware and its moods. She acquires new, slower, more precise gestures. Shapes, curves, textures, color, light ... She experiments, she discovers, she sharpens her eye.

As a ceramic artist with a cursus in Applied Arts, in graphic and digital arts, Séverine Digonnet likes to explore new territories. She goes where the ideas take her. Impatience heckles the demand.

Her vases are handmade one by one, in her workshop, now located in Amiens. Between abstract fluidity and dynamic geometry, her vases are inspired by the architecture of the 1920s, the design of the 1950s to 1970s. Looking for the right form, brushing away the superfluous, she likes to move away just to get back and keeps only the essentials. Sometimes she just lets it go and emotions arise.

Over the time, Séverine Digonnet has refined her own vision of what the everyday object should be like, what feeling it should give to the person who owns it. She is one of those who thinks that a vase can become a piece of art in its own right.
